Suprise, suprise!!

So Dad's friend Frank apparently makes dresses and he made 2 Christening gowns for Olivia. I got to pick between the 2 of them and keep the one I liked the best. They were both absolutely GORGEOUS and FAR beyond what I expected when dad said that Frank made 2 dresses for Olivia. So this is the one I picked. I think it's adorable. I believe Frank made it out of a table runner or table cloth, but the attention to detail is beautiful.

RIP Morning Glories

So today, our morning glories got hacked to death by a man with a machetti.... and no I'm not lying....

The Landlords hired a relative to take care of the lawn while they are away for the summer and he hacked our morning glories to pieces with - no lie - a machetti.

Mom and I kept hearing this annoying noise outside and didn't know what it was and then when she went to see what or who it was causing all the noise, she found him cutting our morning glories down. He said he didn't know they were flowers (they were just starting to climb) and tried to assure mom with his thick accent that they would grow back, when we know full well that it took 3 months for those suckers to grow from seeds, and that they arent coming back. There were a few stragglers nearest the fence that managed to escape their death, but all in all we were left with a pile of mutilated morning glories...

So goodbye morning glories... I had fun watching you grow while it lasted...

Strawberry Picking!

Mom and I went Strawberry Picking today!!! It was BEAUTIFUL out!!!

We got there early enough that there weren't alot of people there yet, but were bummed to hear that the Strawberry crop was limited due to the frost they had earlier this year... :(

We made our way down and sure enough, it was not easy pickin's, but we did manage to find enough to fill up a quart (just enough to make strawberry shotcake - which we will be making later)

And my favorite part..... WARM CIDER DONUTS! :D So that is what we brought home with us and I can't wait to eat them.....

The First of Many Days Off...

So, I put in my 2 weeks for LNT and I now have Fridays and Saturdays off... It's weird for me, because I have been working 7 days a weeks for over a year now. Sooooo.... I spent most of my Friday with my friend Laura.

Before she and I went out, I went through a TON of hand-me-down baby clothes that I have been given recently (3 totes and a bag full) threw out what was old and stained and kept what i liked and put the rest in a 30 galon garbage bag to bring to Goodwill.

So Laura and I decided we were STARVING lol... We drove to Goodwill and dropped off the baby clothes and then we ended up at the Double O. YUMMMMM

We were starving and ended up eating a 3 course meal - something I have not been able to accomplish in a long time, but I think it was easier for us considering the waitress came around so infrequently....

We had Texas Nachos for an Appetizer

I had Macaroni and Cheese for lunch/dinner and Laura had some Seafood Platter that i know i would never be able to hold down if I tried...

Then we had dessert :D
I had Snickers Cheesecake.. and YES it did tast like a Snickers. And Laura had Death by Chocolate Cake.

So after that we went baby shopping at Baby Depot. Laura had a field day, because not only am I pregnant , but her sister is pregnant and due about 3 weeks before me. Soooo laura's armss were chock full of baby clothes. Mine not so much, but I did pick up a few things for Olivia...

We went back to her house and gave Jenny the clothes for he baby Zachary and then I came home and Mom and I went for a walk down on Main Street and ended the day at the coffee shop watching the Sunset...
All in all it was a really great day.... AND... I didn't have to work!!!!

24 1/2 weeks....

Yes, I'm that far along... just wanted to share a couple pictures I took today @ 24 weeks and 3 days. :) Apparently my Uterus is the size of a soccer ball now, and Olivia is a foot long and almost 2 lbs. I'm still debating middle names, but I decided today that I think I like Olivia Mackenzie. It just kinda popped in my head yesterday.

My Mini Vacation.... part 1

I had a weekend get-a-way to Leslie's house a couple weekends ago... I needed to get away from the monotony of work for a few days, so I made an impromptu trip to her house to see her and Chris and the kiddies... It was a blast... The weather was really crappy on the way there... lots of rain, but when I finally got there, I was greeted by a shrieking Mitch and Avery who were no less than thrilled that I was there - hahaha. I was happy to be there too. Dinner was yummy and coincidentally, we had the exact same meal planned as Mom did. Leslie and I spent most of the night discussing the baby and life i guess you would say... Saturday we all went to the market and i got dad his Pickled Garlic Cloves (yuk). Avery and I got some cheddar cheese and bagels to eat for lunch later and along with Mitch, we danced to the men playing the guitar as Leslie and Chris picked out their wine... I wish we had a market by me like they do. Ours is verrrry small. Saturday turned out to be a BEAUTIFUL day... must have been defying the rain fore casted for the day. I played some games with the kids and showed Avery how to crochet the chain stitch, which by sunday, she had it down pretty good! *GRINS WITH PRIDE* Terry came over with Jak for a little bit who is nothing less than adorable. :) Leslie and I looked at baby items online and researched making a baby sling for myself, which i now FINALLY have all the items I need to make it! (My sling rings came in the mail yesterday - YAY!) And she was working on a project on her sewing machine, and then ended up working on the sewing machine itself... it decided to be difficult that day. It was a nice relaxed day - just what i needed. Sunday, I had to leave unfortunately... had to come back for work. But i got to spend the morning with them and then it was off back to my work filled life and in the rain - again... haha

The reason this is Part 1, is because the pictures of my trip are on the home computer and I am currently procrastinating working here at work lol... but I must get to it. I shall repost soon with pictures of my mini vacation!
